About

Compassion Journal is an online home for research in compassion.

Established in 2012 by the Centre for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education at Stanford University, it has been relaunched in 2019 in collaboration with the Compassionate Mind Research Group at the University of Queensland. Compassion Journal offers a comprehensive view of compassion in its many forms, including how compassion is expressed in the arts and literature, the latest in the science of compassion and how compassion is employed in a variety of professional fields and pursuits. It is an international online journal that answers the question “What is compassion?” from many different sides. Compassion Journal is a good resource for all those interested in compassion. It provides a source of support for people who are committed to compassion and who challenge themselves to be compassionate each day.

Our gratitude and thanks are extended to the inaugural editor in chief of Compassion Journal, Elizbeth Pyjov and her extensive work in establishing this online resource and compassion hub.

Are aims are to inspire compassion in daily life, build a world community around compassion, honour compassions multi-dimensionality and made compassion education accessible.

We hope you find this resource useful
